Erich Fromm Quotes

German social psychologist Erich Fromm is widely accredited as one of the pioneering thinkers responsible for the field of political psychology, thanks to his seminal work Escape from Freedom that he published in 1941. Many of Fromm’s teachings are inspired by Biblical interpretations, but one of his most crucial teachings is that he believed our freedom was an aspect of humanity that we either escape or embrace. His collection of essays and books are available in both German and English, and he’s an important source of inspiration for many sociology and political students from Europe and even further afield.
